The Do’s and Don’ts of Self-hypnosis

Self-hypnosis is a powerful practice that involves inducing a trance-like state to focus the mind, enhance relaxation, and promote positive change. I am a huge advocate for self-hypnosis and in my and my client’s experience, it is completely safe, under normal circumstances. However, it does demand respect for its depth and complexity as in some instances, it bears potential risks if ventured into unprepared.  It is strongly advised that you refrain from using any type of mind-altering substance before and after going into a trance state unless you are under the supervision of an experienced Shaman or doctor. Unfortunately, a young woman, whom we will call Mia, was experimenting with a dangerous concoction known as ‘lean’. The session was led by an individual with no professional trainin
